Alumni Profile – CSU Study Centre, Sydney

Kirill Kozlov – International Graduate, Master of Business Administration 2011

AlumniKirill2In 2009 the CSU Study Centre in Sydney was fortunate to welcome Kirill as an enthusiastic new MBA student. He hails from the beautiful city of Moscow in Russia and now calls Australia home. Kirill had a high profile while at the study centre and was a member of the CSU Student Representative Committee. He is currently working full time in industry and will be attending his graduation ceremony at the Bathurst campus in December 2011.

We asked Kirill a few questions about his experiences in Australia, to get an insight into the international student experience at the CSU Study Centres.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your background and why you decided to study in Australia?

A: I graduated in 2007 from the Moscow Medical Academy which is named after I.M. Sechenov, the great Russian physiologist and psychiatrist. It is also the oldest medical school in Russia (founded in 1758). After graduating from the Academy, I started my career in a pharmaceutical company as a key account coordinator and was achieving good results. In the back of my mind, however, I always wanted to get a business degree overseas.

Q: Tell us about your experience at CSU and what really stands out for during your time there?

A: I really enjoyed studying at CSU. For me, the great aspects about CSU are the environment, flexibility and staff support. I have spoken to many students from different universities in Sydney and found that they don't offer the environment. You are really close to the lecturers in terms of asking questions and getting feedback on assignments and other issues.

Q: Where are you working now and what is your role?

A: I am working as a Project Assistant at Appen Butler Hill. The company specialises in speech and language technology and is a global leader in linguistic solutions. My role involves designing, implementing, managing and analysing international projects around the globe.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: As soon as I get enough experience in project management, I would like to return to the pharmaceutical industry as a Project Manager in the marketing field.
